I'll try to change that bulb, if they are T10s then it won't break the bank if they don't work.

I decided to use 35w xenons rather than 55w due to worries of overheating.

When I changed my xenon bulbs to the focussing type I noticed that one of the bulbs had a white film over the glass where the light is emitted, I'm not sure what caused it, it may have been my fingers but I tried my hardest not to touch the glass. But I haven't noticed any yellowing yet, had the bulbs in for 2 months now..

I know its a hassle but try taking out the bulb and seeing if it is the problem rather than a melted casing - second time round it much quicker changing the bulbs! Wold be interested to know what was the cause if you find out

this w5w bulbs you found look nice..

If you are going to buy them from ebay i suggest you buy the ones that have 9leds
Set SMD LED Standlicht XENON BMW X5 E70 M W5W 9SMD CANBUS | eBay

i will be changing the h7 with a new set i ordered and will check if its was the bulb that went yellow, i already have the xenons in for more over year.

please keep me updated if you have changed the angel eyes.

yesterday i tried to put the H1 high beam LED in the X5. Do not buy because the head of the LED H1 is bigger then the normall H1 so it will not fit inside the hole.

Now i am checking to buy this one...
BMW X5 (E70) Bj.07- Xenon Look Fernlicht H1 In Vision Blue Birnen | eBay

You already tried the t10 w5w angel eyes?

regards

Currently in the alps where it's -12 so won't be trying to do the lights till I get back and it's a bit warmer

Bought some vredestein wintracs and the car is amazing in the deep snow!

Hi, did anyone manage to get to the bottom of this and find out what bulb is required for the angel eyes with standard halogen headlights?

Thanks

You have to take the bumper off which entails removing these annoying plastic rivets from the trim parts, it's not a massive job but make sure you order some of these before you embark. I haver done it yet due to time constraints but looked on eBay and there are plenty of places on eBay that sell these.

I'd be very interested to hear what bulb type is used for the halo ring on the halogen based headlight box
