How do you replace rear bumper cover?

Hello,

I bought a used e70 and it turns out the rear bumper cover was cheaply fixed and painted. Now the paint is coming off and it looks terrible!

Has anyone replaced their own rear bumper cover? Are there any instructions floating around? Does anyone know of a good place to get a replacement bumper? The dealer wants $500.00...

J

I have the rear bumper off my 2011 premium (6k miles) for sale. includes all the lower garnishes which have been smoothed and painted. color is platinum graphite. Looking for $300 + shipping. If you are close to a greyhound station it will be about $50 unless I ship UPS or FEDEX is probably $100. shoot me pm if interested?

Anyone know what is going on with the black trim in the pictures I uploaded? I really don't want to replace the whole bumper, I just might have to. Looks like the dealer used some kind of black trim treatment and now it is being washed away. I tried Back to Black, but is no way near strong enough to blend in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if this is what was used...
Amazon.com: Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit: Automotive

Anyone have any experience with this product?

I have something similar to that, but on a much smaller scale, a 1-2in circle in one spot.

I use Mother's Back to Black. It's good stuff. It's a detailing product so you have to keep on applying it every so often. I apply it to all the exterior black trim.

Off the top of my head you first remove the bumper reflectors. There are some bolts under those holes. Then remove rivets at the rear of the rear wheel wells. Then you yank on the bumper cover towards the rear. As soon as you get it loose reach behind and disconnect harnesses to the PDC sensors.
