Maybe people are just much better at parking where you live, but if you lived where I do, you'd be mad at pretty much everybody all the time based on what you wrote.

I hear ya. It is no better hear which is why I always try and park in the sticks where I need to leave a train of bread crumbs to get back to my ride. That said, it still doesn't help sometimes
