extended warranty

I've been thinking about buying the platinum extended BMW warranty but wanted to see if anyone has a dealer contact for aggressive pricing of the warranty. Any leads? Thanks

I just got off the phone with my dealer (Pace BMW). They told me platinum coverage is not available for X5 4.8i.

Off topic: I'm sorry to hear that Pace BMW is your home dealer. Nothing but horrible experiences with them.

But, their sister dealership in Bloomberg, NJ, has been more than stellar for me. Also, I will admit that Greenwich service is pretty good.

I just got a quote from BMW of Austin for $5175 for Platinum and $4525 for the 7 year/100K mile Gold protection plan. Does anybody have any better deals on EVP warranties?

Little off topic, but Pace has been great to me.

I bought both Gold EVP 6yr/100k ($2860 no tax) and Maintenance Plan Upgrade ($2195 no tax) from Patrick Casey at Faulkner BMW. He posted on a couple forum sites that they were selling at just above cost. This was the best deal I found anywhere.

At the time I had 49,500 miles on my 2009 X5d. Mileage verification was easy to work out with him.

This may seem ridiculously expensive, but I reckoned that the independent BMW repair shops have not worked on diesels since they were only released in 2009 and most are still under warranty. I know that many of the systems are the same as the gassers.

I drive about 25000 miles per year so the 6yr/100k seemed perfect.

I've sent two e-mails to Patrick over the past week, but haven't heard back from him. I'll keep trying to contact him.
