2008 x5 4.8i : cranks but won't fire to start!!

So just drove the car in to my garage. 30 mins later it tries to start - cranks but won't fire up to actually start!?!?
Battery is good all lights all functions are fine.
No real warnings, just a yellow exclamation and engine light on.
I am having them towed to the dealership this morning, lucky it's still under warranty.
Any ideas????

Mine was similar but I had a "Transmission malfunction" message. They replaced the crank shaft position sensor and some other sensor, I'll have to check out the paperwork. At the end of the day, it wasn't a transmission issue...how's that for back asswards German error messages?

So y'all won't believe this bull- it was the keys losing the security sync with the ignition.
So they reprogrammed every thing an changed both battery.

Except the 2nd key is still dead, néed to replace the battery. Classic BMW is a lousy dealership! Why would they not do it eve though it was specifically requested?!?!
