Mr.X5_3.0si-retired is on a distinguished road
mines only an '07 so i don't believe it has that function, i was told only '09+ have it?

I just traded in my '07 X5 and I didnt have the auto open tailgate feature. I am guessing, that the motor to open and close is not present...therefore, "coding" is irrelevant....there are several more knowledgeable people on here than me....perhaps they might chip in too?

Auto tailgate was an option for '08. I got it.

Will coding cause any issue with a vehicle under the CPO program. If not, anyone in the Sacramento area willing to code for me?
