Acceleration Delay...help please

We have a 2011 X5 with the gasoline fueled turbo engine. When I step on the accelerator pedal there is a delay (~0.5 seconds) before the power comes on. The SUV has about 7k miles now and the issues seems more noticeable now than when it was new.

I have had other turbo charged cars so think I know what turbo lag is. I don't think it turbo lag. This seems like a communication issue between the pedal and the brain.

I did a search here but did not find the answer. I may have not searced for the correct term.

I'm guessing we are not the only folks experiencing this issue.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks for the help.

Bob-
