Does anyone know what the function of these are. There are two of them,,,located in the opening beside the fog lights. I can speculate oil and trans cooler, but not sure.

That might be your A/C condenser. They like to put those in front for better A/C performance.

Yeah,,I kind of thought about that myself,,,but there are two of them,,,I don't think one is big enough but I also don't think that they would split that system in two either,,,,

Only other thought would be for twin turbo oil cooling, hence 1 one on each side...

Depending on what side they are on, it will be your oil coolers for the TT.

What are you driving...?

Maybe I missed it, but what is the vehicle?
If you are driving something with twin turbos (///M) those are most likely the water to air intercoolers.

They are used to cool the intake air (air is heated when compressed by the turbos) before it is fed into the engine.

Just a thought,
95wildtt

Driving an X5 50i,,,they have the twin turbos, but the intercooler is inside the engine compartment hanging on each side of the intake. There are 2 of them and both are air-water,,,so these are not intercoolers,,,at least I don't think that they are........
