I had 3M on my 2001 X5, 2004 X5 and also on our 2006 325. No fading or yellowing on any of these cars. They all used 3M product however. On my 2011 X5 I had the 3M ventureshield installed. Was $729 to have front bumper, fogs, head lights (they used a thicker material on the headlights) hood, fenders and exterior mirrors done...just get a reputable shop.

Just had the Ventureshield treatment on our 2008 X5 - hood, headlights, front bumper, mirrors, leading edge of guards and door edges & cups - $990 all up. Good product and install but Ouch! the cost.

Yeah my dealer's finance guy tried that on me too when I was picking up my car. When I said I had an appointment to get it done at a local shop he immediately dropped the price to about $600 or so.

Same thing on the tint, immediate 30% discount when I said I was getting it done locally instead.
