Unhappy E70 X5 Keep getting P0442 Small Evapor Leak

Hi... I wonder if anyone has similar experience...

Over last few month... my X5 keep getting the Gas cap icon showing up half gas tank. At first, the first engine warning light would show up.. and then disappear, and then the garage would smell like gas. Arround half tank of gas, the gas cap icon would show up, and the check engine never goes away.

I had dealder reset it once, and check for gas line leak.. Nothing was found. One of the explanation they told me is stop put in gas on the first click. So I did that and the check engine light will continue to show up. I been using a personal ODBC diagnosis tool to reset it everytime it shows up.. but frankly i am sick of reset the engine check every time it hit half a tank and the garage smells like gas station.

The ODBC read P0442 small evap leak. and yes.. i did close the gas cap.

Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
