my 1st post HID fogs with DIY
I have been searching around the forum but seems like I am the first one to install the HID fogs for the E70, and I will write a DIY along with my install progress. I bought the xtreme 6500K H11 conversion kit from kbcarstuff.com and Steve is a very helpful guy who answers some questions regarding how to fix the fault light code. Btw don't forget to use the coupon code: E90 when check out which will save you $25 plus a pair of failture fix resistor and nitrile dipped gloves
and here is the kit ![]() 1) Remover the cover under the fog light by pulling down the top of the silver trim and there should be 3 clips on top and 2 at the bottom. Remove the top first and then the bottom ![]() ![]() 2) Do the same on the other side 3) remove 4 black screws and 4 silver phillip screws under the bumper and 2 more black screws on each side of the fender liner(1 of them is quit hidden) ![]() ![]() ![]() 4) Remove the 5 screw on top of the bumper ![]() 5) now you can start to pull the whole bumper off but remember the bumper also held by 2 clips on each side also don't forget to unplug the PDC sensor wire ![]() ![]() 6) After the bumper is off then you can start wiring the harness ![]() Ballast ![]() Relay ![]() failture fix resistor ![]() 7) Testing ![]() ![]() 8) check if there is any error code ![]() 9) make sure there is no error code before puting everythings back on and then you are all set ![]() ![]() Should my first thread be sticky Last edited by Chillioil; 04-17-2008 at 12:03 AM. |
