If you want the dual pipe black chrome for the 50i, they're part number: 18307639891. They comes standard on the 50i with the M Performance Package (ZMX), full exhaust system part number: 18307639892.

Had to do a ton of research on this trying to figure out what exhaust was supposed to come on my 35i with ZMX.
Apparently (according to my BMW dealer) the single pipe won't fit on my X5, is this correct? Or is the dealer just being a typical dealer.

If your existing pipes are welded, then you'll have to cut them off for these to clamp on, so that may be why they're telling you they won't fit. I know the stock 35i m sport ones were welded, but when you install the performance exhaust they aren't.

Mine are not welded. I had the ac schnitzer tips, but removed them as they looks good from the rear, but crap from the sides (sticked out too much) Now I have the standard ones on (had to buy new ones, very $$$ for that crap looking tip). I also think that my exhaust is aftermarket, as its stainless steel and have a louder growl than a 4.8, but has the standard clamp for the tips.

I had mine adjusted at the dealer today to get them sitting even, BMW didn't make the performance exhaust for the 35i an easy install, have to adjust the exhaust and the tips to make sure everything lines up but they got it right after a few tries.

This is what mine look like:

As far as I know there are very few aftermarket exhaust options for the 50i. I was thinking of just doing away with the muffler and just connecting strait to the tips. Anyone done this?

I'm not so sure about that. I would think that the turbos would act like a muffler. I'll take a look under the truck and see if my exhaust is welded. If it uses clamps ill just take them off and see what that sounds like.

sure!
video if u do it
I remember back in the day i did my mustang 5.0
and sounded like a jet plane taking off
It wasn't the prettiest sound but i was a lot younger then and didn't care!

ps i think the 5.0 sound is amazing and just perfect. definitely better sounding than a x5M
Just my opinion!
