My '08 x5 just sprung a slow coolant system leak - and i've been out of warranty for a year now. Coincidentally, just passed 40k miles and starting noticing intermittent coolant drip under the (US model) passenger side while parked in driveway. Taking it in to the dealer to get pressure tested/diagnosed.
Searching the web - this could be either the water pump or plastic end piece on the radiator. Either way - looking at over $1k repair out of pocket. Hoping this is the only major issue to come up for some time.
