X5 E70 has aircon problems on most cars
I had a leaking leaking evaporator just at warranty ended and BMW Adelaide free of charge (3000.00) repaired it.Now the car is 4 years old and the condenser is leaking . I had the system filled with gas and later applied R-134a Super Seal all done, 5 minutes and working .
The cost for Super seal from USA $40.- This aircon problems is very commen for the X5 and i advice to use extended warranty |

Mine was also leaking at ~38,000 miles...Smelled like bandaids every time we turned on the X5. They pulled the entire dashboard to replace. My repair resulted in
- a broken windshield - a number of annoying rattles - broken shield in engine bay These were because of gross incompetence on the dealers part. |

Maybe the OP is right
![]() In five years, I've only had two potentially expensive repairs: 1. iDrive replacement (because it went dim occasionally) 2. Condensor replaced due to leak (this had resulted in me having no A/C at all) |

My '07s A/C seems pretty weak, especially on really hot days. I've always told myself that my expectations are too high, but could this be the problem? Seems like I should be able to get the car ice cold regardless of the temperature outside, and that simply isn't happening.

In south Florida the solution is window tint. Saves a/ c and
interior from sun damage and less stress on a/ c |

I've had 4 x5's never had an HVAC problem once.
But yeah, the OP had a problem so it's common among ALL X5's
