Also I would call BMWNA and tell them that this happened. You don't want to pay for the rear bags if you don't have to trust me. Did you get a price?
Warranty expires doesn't mean BMW and a good SA can't still fight the fight. You will be surprised what they will do at times.

My rear air bags are ok, the problem is the rear left shock, after I got the X back I took it back to the dealer for oil change and wheel alightment with a diferent SA and he couldn't get it approved.
I think the estimate was $2,100 plus tax
