2010 x 5 4.8 ipod adapter interface...post 3
My 2010 X5 SUV (built 3.10) came with a USB port in the glovebox and only a mini plug in the central console...(no USB port in the center console).
I need to have access to my ipod through the idrive system. My dealer is unsure what's going on. Can I use the ipod adapter interface from BMW or something else from BMW to accomplish this? Or do I have to go aftermarket to get this worked out. I want to fully interface w/iDrive. This was my post 3 concerning my 2010 4.8. Thanks for youtr patience w/ this....just need to figure these things out. R |

You need to retrofit the iPod option under the center armrest. The USB slot in the glove compartment is not designed for the iPod interface. It will not work with the BMW Y-cable.
