I think I made a HUGE mistake !

So I am new to this forum and thought I would share my recent experience with the purchase of a CPO 2011 (early 2011 with a July 2010 build date) Alpine White X5 with 41k miles, one owner, clean carfax, spotless service history, etc (last 7 of vin L406191). I traded out of a 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 that was a beast of a vehicle. It only had 10k miles on it before I traded it in and it never went back to the dealer for any kind of warranty or service related repairs. Because I live in the Midwest where we get SNOW and a 12mpg vehicle is just not practical I figured a CPO X5 would be a decent vehicle to get into that would provide year round operation, better gas mileage, decent resale value, and a lower payment (Jeep price was $64,000 when bought new). So I test drove the X5 and confirmed that a 2011 with the twin turbo's would be a nice switch. I really liked it's ride and the tight / responsive steering. After crunching some numbers and negotiating the X5 (with the CPO warranty) down to $38,000 I pulled the trigger and did the deal on 3/18/13. After the leaving the dealership I was about 10 miles away when the yellow brake lamp, ABS, DSC, and check engine light came on while audible beeps started ringing out at me. The Nav screen displayed an error about the Stability Control being inoperative and that I needed to take the vehicle to a BMW service facility. I called my salesman who initially thought I had accidentally disabled the DSC from the console button but after explaining to him what it said he asked me to return to the dealer ASAP. So a few hours later I returned to the dealer who confirmed that something was wrong and put me in a loaner. I was optimistic that the problem was something simple so I was not that bothered. The next day I don't hear anything so I wait till the 20th when I contacted my salesman who put me in touch with the BMW service manager. I was told the problem had something to do with the "Key Slave Unit" which was being shipped overnight to them. He said I would have the car back by the end of the day on Thursday the 21st. At approx 5:00pm on Thursday I was contacted by the same service manager who told me that after installing the new "Key Slave" the problem was still occurring. He could not tell me exactly what was causing the issues but said they were in touch with BMW engineers and there would be a "Process of elimination" to repair the car. I thought this was odd and far from reassuring that I would have my new-used car for the upcoming weekend. So after replacing several power control units and associated relays, along with a valvetronic motor, without success I was forced to wait until Monday 3/25/13 before even thinking about taking possession of my new-used X5. So on 3/25/13 I was told that they needed to re-program the entire vehicle and drive it overnight to verify everything was fixed. I never heard back from them after this and stopped in there today to blow off some steam. I spoke with the service manager who showed me my truck (about 12 feet high on a lift) and explained that the BMW engineers are now advising them to replace the DCU unit and re-program the vehicle again. Guess what, the DCU is NOT IN STOCK and has to be overnight-ed like the last 5 parts. However, there is NO GUARANTEE this will be the fix and I am about ready to blow a gasket I don't know how much more patient I can be, especially if I am forced to be in a loaner for the entire Easter weekend.

Here are my options:

1. Back out of the entire deal and get my Jeep back.
2. Be patient with the dealer and allow them to figure out the problem/s
3. Choose a different vehicle and they will give me a great deal on it. However, I really like the Alpine white 2011 + X5 and the only thing they have is a brand new 2013 for $61k

I am also concerned about the following with this vehicle.

* Lack of bluetooth streaming from my iPhone 5
* iPhone 5 won't play when connected via USB (haven't tried a y cable yet)
* Cannot CLOSE the tailgate from the console button or remote controls
* Lack of LED halos on headlamps
* No sunshade
* The most annoying seat-belt warning system on the planet

I am just looking for any suggestions from other owners regarding this nightmare. My main concern is that I didn't buy myself a constant headache of a vehicle. I wanted an X5 for the exact opposite reason, dependability and longevity. Thanks
