E70 adaptive drive adjustment -transmission

What a world it makes. Told the SA that my car was shifting a little strange and gas mileage was not that great. I don't expert hybrid mileage but I was getting like 15/16 on highway. He said the range for the adaptive drive in the tranny was way off. They reset it and man oh man what a difference in pedal feel and shifting. Very smooth and more linear power. Also has mileage on a 75 mile trip went from 15/16 to 21.9mpg. I would believe it if I hadn't experienced it myself. I knew something was up just didn't know it was that bad.

They also replaced my steering wheel that has some leather peeling on the top. Always nice to have SA's, Techs and Foremen working with you.

In or out of warranty? CPO? Factory? Extended?

Glad to hear that there are still some good apples out there.

In warranty. They have accommodated me every step if the way and then some.

Adaptive Drive is about suspension. Not transmission...

Tranny adaptation on how it drives. It's adaptive. So I said it that way. Kinda figured people would understand that about the tranny.

I mentioned adaptive drive for the tranny. Or adaptation. Better?

The transmission does "learn" driving habits. However, Adaptive Drive is a specific feature/option that has to do with active suspension and damping. So, what you're talking about really isn't Adaptive Drive.

I did, however, understand what you were saying. You just used the term, "adaptive drive," incorrectly. No biggie.

I am aware of adaptive drive since I have it. tranny adaptation was just that ...adaptive. Should be more like adaptive to my driving

On my previous GTS Cayenne it was PDCC which was a little more refined I think than the AD on BMW.

Wonder what a coilover system and thicker sway bars would do to the BMW

Yeah, but just to be clear (to avoid confusing other forum members). You are not talking about Adaptive Drive - a BMW option that manages suspension characteristics. Your thread title may lead searchers here - to something that really has nothing to do with the Adaptive Drive feature.

did the tranny reset on my e70. the tranny icon lit up on the dash. it feels WAY more smooth. before, if you got on it it would lag then jump hard and it feels like the power is applied more linearly and the shifts are smoother. still downshifts hard into first when rolling to a stop though.
