^Hard to say. They may have made up whatever price you paid....
Generally new is more than remanned. Often times remanned is the only part that is available. In general a remanufactured part from an OEM is fine- it isnt 'a used part' and it isnt 'a rebuilt unit'. Essentially a remanned is all the parts come in, they are stripped to components, any part that might wear, or is visibly damaged is discarded. The unit is then built using a mixture of new and old components using factory tolerances, tooling and testing. Indeed, especially with a high failure rate part, a remanned unit may have more improvements than the original OE new part had.... edit: I will add that in my mind there is a BIG difference between rebuilt and remanned... with remanned, they can toss anything that isnt to spec, a housing that is worn, or whatever. With rebult all they can do is take the rebuild parts kit and install it, they dont have the luxury of getting a new housing, etc. The a reman is done (typically) bu factory techs, using factiory tooling and specs. The most significant is a tranny- a rebuild can be far inferior to a factory remanned. IMO Last edited by ard; 06-21-2013 at 03:03 AM. |

If the invoice says remanufactured, then that is linked to the price in the computer. If it says new, but actually isn't, then that would be different.
I checked an online catalogue, and it only shows reman as being available.

Its a age thing. Whether driven or sitting. Its aging. I drive about 200 - 500 miles a month. Just spent 1,500.00 on fuel pumps for
a 2002 car with 5,000 miles. Who ever buys the 335 just traded may shock it and have problems. 3.5 years and 11,000 miles of in town driving. |
