dealer's rate is a lot more than an indy shop... something like $130/hr vs. $80-$90. Big jobs can mean a big difference. Sometimes the benefit is you get a loaner from the dealer. I would only go back to the dealer if it were an uncommon issue. Dealers are also more inclined to try and rip off your warranty company. The latter can tell you all about that.
