Oil change N62TU (4.8i)
do you have to remove the reinforcement plate to get to the drain plug? can the drain plug and oil filter be accessed just by raising the vehicle? |

not sure if is needed but your picture clearly says " shown without for clarity" assuming work can be done with it on

You don't need to remove the plate. Everything is accessible after raising the vehicle. I just drive my onto rhino ramps, much easier than jacking the car up.
Note.. when you're tightening the drain plug (number 1 in the second pic) on the oil filter cap, make sure you don't over tighten it or else you'll easily strip the thread inside. The proper torque specs (10Nm). The oil drain plug on the oil pan - torque specs (25Nm). Last edited by lordshin808; 05-07-2013 at 10:17 AM. |
