Electrical problem....every light on dash on
It's a 2007 X5 4.8i with 75k on it still under CPO. I just replaced the battery in Jan of this year. It is just odd to me that after a jump, it was fine. Seems like a short, bad connection somewhere, or the battery again. Anyone else experience this? Going to get it to the dealer but that is more complicated than it seems since the nearest is 320 miles from me. Thank you BMW assistance! |

battery or alternator/voltage regulator... if the voltage spikes over 16 volts, it can wreck a havoc in the car... and of course, if it drops below nominal, it can play trick on the brain too.. like oxygen - too much and you are burning fast, too low, and you start seeing things...
have them read the codes, i bet there will be a code or two related to the voltage... |

Sounds like the battery is toast, or quickly becoming that due to an alternator problem.

Your alternator appears to be going. Mine lasted 40k miles and took the battery with it. Just under 2k for both. All of the lights started coming on, then a few days later they all lit up and it died while driving 55 mph. Pain in the ass getting it towed while stuck in drive and the alarm started going off.

Haha. I have an appointment set for Monday. We will see what they say. Just curious if others have experienced this. Alternator should be covered by the CPO and if the battery is bad I have a warranty on that as well. Hoping the dent isn't too great.
