Clean X5 Msport any HI guys on the forum?

Aloha,
Heading back to Hawaii next month and I'm torn on if I should sell my X5 or keep it. I'm being pressured by the better half to sell her to Carmax to avoid Hawaii's premium gas prices. However I feel I got a great deal on this car back in Nov 12 and the M sports are rare with every option checked. I'll miss owning one after a couple months on island... Anyway here's some pixs!

Schmiedman quad exhaust tips & LCI tails

20" X6M replicas w/ factory runflats any of you experience any MPG gains after swapping out the runflats for regular tires?

Keep it. You won't be driving that many miles in Hawaii. The roads are just not very long.

Nice X! As for MPG's.....that's going to be determined by your foot, not the tires. FWIW, I'm on 22" reps (..on Pirelli's) and I'm averaging 430-440 miles per tank on my X5 M-Sport.

How many gallons can our tanks hold? I'm getting 14.1mpg but I pray that's not accurate! I keep the suspension in sport mode and "D" for daily driving I only use "DS" if I really need to do quick pass. Hawaii is a lot of stop and go traffic so I'd imagine my mpg might actually go down

Stop and go on these heavy vehicles is a killer. When I do local, I'm only getting 13mpg on my 3.0si with 20s (likely because it's heavier for the lesser engine too).

When I took it on a recent trip mostly highway it got 18-20.

If it were me in HI, I'd do everything I could to keep my X. It's got to be a bit rare there.

Oahu has a lot of higher end SUVs than you might think. You'd think they wouldn't with the cost of gas but people manage to afford these SUVs somehow...

Aloha e Perryx5,

I'm from O`ahu, and am living here in Los Angeles. Depending on where you live vs where you work will be a huge determining factor. If you live Mililani, and drive to town for work, then it's a crap drive of stop and go traffic on the H1. So either keep it and invest in a cheap compact for commuting and keep the X for the weekend. Not many X5 M's there. If there are, they're towards Kailua or Hawaii Kai.

22 gallons total. I drive in M mode majority of the time, and I rarely use D or DS.

I'm going to be living in Kapolei/Makakilo and working down in Aiea so I will hit H1 daily. I have a 2nd Gen Lexus GS400 which is another V8 engine it's get 22 mpg combined which is better than the X5 but still uses premium gas. I can't part with my GS not even for the X5 lol I'd probably get a civic to drive back and forth to work

22 mpg I didn't think any X5 outside of the X5D was able to do that well...
