curious - when you got your new battery last year, was it programmed with the computer (DME)?

No it wasn't programmed. I never knew that I needed to. When I had it towed to the dealer last week, they replaced it and programmed it.

I was driving my brothers X yesterday and we took it through a car wash. Afterwards, we opened the passenger side rear panel by the fuse box and there was water on the bottom of the tray. Things were wet! Not sure if that's what's casing my X to wig out?

Problem with my X is that I had a custom 10" sub installed there. I did remove it last week to see if anything looked weird but all looked good. Not sure if I should remove the speaker perminetly.

It's Monday now so let's see what the shop finds today?

As of today my tech couldn't find anything. They finally called bmw tech hotline(didn't know there was such a thing) and they pinpointed it to a rear hatch wire. It was pre installed for the auto lift gate. Don't have to much info but I guess they re-wired it and all the faults cleared and never re appeared.

So the X is all good now. The main problem was a stripped wire in the rear passenger side below the fuse box. I guess my 07 was pre wired for the auto lift gate and nobody knew. After the tech pulled apart the bundle of wire, he saw one corroded and stripped. It must of been shorting out. Water did get in there also but nobody knows from where.

All this trouble for a stripped wire!!!!

I also had to replace the steering angle sensor ( I think that's what it's called)!

Hope it helps future problems!

check the drain tubes from the sunroof that open into the rear of the hatch - the E53 had them, the "station wagon" 3 and 5 have them, the E70 must have them too... i have heard that pouring seltzer water helps, as the bubbles break the debris... do a search on the forum for the clogged drains...
