I went to get new tires a few months ago. I was bummed that that were pretty spendy but decided what the heck as I like to hit it pretty hard and thus need good grip. I agreed to the price and then got the call back AFTER they were done saying "we shouldn't have sold you these, you need run flats, you don't have a spare". Then "you can risk it if you carry a puncture kit and a can of run flat". Being kind of risk averse I said, "even though they cost 2x the regular tires I am willing to do it but I vaguely recall having a spare back there, will you check first?" Sure enough I have a spare, jack, etc. I don't get it, some have spare, some don't.
Joe 2008 4.8 (with newish tires and spare). I paid 32k$ in October 2012 and it had 46K miles on it CPO.
