Look at the front of your and my alternator and make sure the arrow is in same place. My alternator is a 220Amp unit (220 or 200 something) Its for the four zone climate car. |

maybe I'm not explaining right.
The cable has a plate on it where it connects to a bolt with a nut. The plate is angled. I need to mount it downward so the cable is routed over the alternator and it will give me the most slack, this is how I had it originally. problem was that I couldn't turn the alternator to align it with the mounting bolts because the cable/ mounting was hitting the right engine bay wall. if it had 2 more inches of cable or even 1, it would not be a problem. This is kicking my ass! |

Can you post pictures?
Did you get a correct alternator for your car (there are two types)? |

yes, mine is the 180 amp, I don't have 4 zone climate.
I'm attaching a picture of the mounting hole that's giving me grief. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...alternator.jpg |

Yop, that's the post I was referring to.
Slide a flat screwdriver under the housing of the alternator and pry this thing up. You will have to force it in, no other way. You could also slide the entire assembly right (towards driver side), align the hole (horizontally), and slide it left as hard as you can (give it a love tap left) |

It was the F'ing bushing, as soon as it tapped it out, it slid a lot closer then as you said a couple love taps with a rubber mallet and SUCCESS!
Taking a break, I'll button everything up in a bit. gregg3gs, THANK YOU!! I really appreciate the help. |

I put everything back together and guess what, where did all this power come from! The car is flat out faster, maybe the failing alternator was reducing power somehow? I wonder if the ECU takes that into account?
If you were in NJ, I'd buy you a drink. Thanks again. |
