Buying a 2012 X5 5.0... Need some direction

Newbie to the forum and looking for some solid advice... I recently bought a Ski Nautique and have been borrowing my wife's suv to tow. I've made the decision to trade in my 2012 535 ix for a 2012 X5 5.0. I have a few questions i'm hoping the forum can help me answer...

1. X5 5.0 reliability? I've owned 3 BMW sedans, but never a BMW SAV. I've heard mixed feedback on reliability. What do I need to know about owning a E 70 X5 5.0???

2. Wheel upgrade? The X5 5.0 that I'm planning on buying has the wimpy 18" wheels. I will keep use these wheels/tires for winter driving but want a 9 month larger set. I've had terrible experience with RFT and want to avoid a rim/tire combo that puts me back into RFT. Is there a go-too wheel that will allow me to source non-RFT tires? I plan on doing the arch wheel flare extension upgrade...

3. Other must-have upgrades? Besides the wheel/flare upgrade, what are the other upgrades I should consider that impact the look and performance.

Sorry for the long post. I appreciate the feedback...
