New (to me) 35i
I'm excited about the vehicle and like the options. There are plenty of things to break but I am always terrified with automatic transmissions. I really wish it had had a manual gearbox. I plan to keep this driving as long as possible, so I will be following my own maintenance shedule. I have some Redline 5W-40 on the way that will go in the engine this weekend. I still need to do more research before tackling the tranny, differentials, and transfer case. I pray Bently publishes an LCI E70 service manual some time soon. I plan to dive into coding sometime soon as well, but fluids come first. This community will be a great resource, so hopefully I will be able to contribute as well. Welcome and congrats on the new drive.
For the diffs Redline is Ok.But for the engine I trust only Castrol and never had a problem. For the transfer case and AT you need to use resommended fluids too.The tranny will take ATF2,but it is too expensive from BMW.The only other brand that is known to work is Pentosin. |
