Hoping someone might have a fix or even a how to disassemble the gear selector on an e70 X5
The Unlock button on the side of my gear selector is sticking. Almost feels like it catches on something. Sometimes works perfectly as well. Thank you for any help you can provide. Last edited by Retired Profile; 02-21-2015 at 06:36 PM. Reason: more text |

Did you find a solution for this? Thanks

Mine has done the same thing, felt like it was mechanically hung up somehow. I worked it back and forth with the engine off to try and dislodge anything that might be in the way - moving it round-and-round, back and forth with my finger. Pretty crude but it solved the problem for now at least.

I ended up taking the cover apart which expose the button. It was broken in the base that’s why it was getting jammed, so I performed a surgery and applied a compound and glued it. Problem solved.
