2106 X5 35i wanders w new snow tires
I recently put on new 18" snow and blizzam tire package for my wife's 2016 X5 35i. The wheels/tires came mounted and balanced from tire rack. It drifts a lot at speeds over 60mph. I have tried different tire inflation pressures. My jeep grand cherokee has had the same tires without issue.
The vehicle came with 19" wheels with lower profile tires but the new 18" snows overall diameter are suppose to be pretty close. Do you think it changes front alignment settings at All? Any thoughts as to what may be causing this? It feels like a gust of wind hits your from the side. Thank You, X5GUY70 |

possible causes:
1) bad tire 2) bad alignment 3) bad toe/camber/etc 4) out of balance 5) bad wheel are the tires directional?

Which wheels? If they are non-BMW wheels then they likely use hub centering rings. You may want to check that all the rings are on.
Which tire model? If they are directional and/or asymmetrical then make sure the correct tires are mounted on each corner and that the side marked outside are actually facing out. If the above checks out then it's one of the causes listed by Thunder22 above.

As well, Blizzaks compound is meant for snow and ice - dry road behavior is not the same as the standard all season tires, especially when the new as the softest compound on the Blizzaks is the first ⅔ of the tread.
