Man, you're making me miss ours. I've been looking at low mileage ones. If I could find someone to buy my e53 for a decent price I might take the plunge again, especially since I still have a bunch of leftover parts laying around. If your still under the emissions warranty I'd try to get the dealer to swap the secondary egr cooler. It seems to be a common enough issue, even with the recall part, the lead tech at BMW West called it immediately after seeing the codes but it was out of emissions warranty by like 2500 miles and they wouldn't even entertain helping me with it.

Thanks for the info/guidance. I'll take it in.

The other reason for selling it is that we want (almost need) an X7. I am 6'8" and our kids are sprouting like weeds so will be tall as well. Plus our parents are getting older and accompanying us on trips now (they drove their own cars out to West TX) and it would be more convenient/safer to have them in the car with us. So the X5 is making less sense.
