I'm doing the same in 2 years. Most likely a Turbo not a fan of porsche diesels, defeats the purpose IMO... I've currently got a matte black Techart 955 CTTS which I've had since new, and love it! Its a shame to see the X5 take a turn for the worst... Been loyal since the first one, but not so sure I will be with the F15... Hope it isn't as bad as the pics.

I think the real deal will look better, maybe even lots better ( I am hoping).

How well do you like the Cayenne? I think the Cayennes look better with each revision!

Not feeling the new one either. Went car shopping this weekend though and nothing I really love. New Range Rover is just too boxy for me and I don't love the Cayenne. I think what bothers me with the F15 so far is that it does not appear as angular/edgy. To me, the E70 (especially 5.0 with 20s) is just about perfect. Hope they don't screw it up.

One other thing I detest is the "free-standing" nav screen BMW has gone with and I'm sure the F15 will have it. Just one more negative.

F15 Purchase?????

Is anyone really looking to buy the first generation F15? I made the mistake of the E70 of buying early, January 07, and have to live wi this decision. I can not believe how unreliable the E70 has been over the past six years. I have kept it for one reason. It is the only seven seater that looks and handles reasonably.

I always go for "service pack 2", which is LCI in BMW land.
What worries me in F15 is a weaker diesel engine lineup (though vehicles will be lighter).
I will probably keep my 2011 35d untill 100K (extended warranty runs out), and by that time will know if I like F15.

By posting this, I'm probably screwing myself...but my 08/07 X5 4.8 has been great. No major problems, just the normal sensors and the like.

Has anyone test driven the new Ford Explorer Sport? Tried the Ecoboost engine in a F150 and was impressed.... I like how the Explorer looks...still not quite a X5 but it's $25k cheaper.

I drove the Ecoboost F150 and I thought it had significant Turbo Lag and I also did not like the way the transmission worked with the motor. But maybe you drove a later version than I did.
