I wish they'd offer the cloth/Alcantara/whatever seats in the USA on the F15. Those look nice, and allow another degree of personalization.

Here's a short video doing a summarised comparison of all three generations of X5s.

What were they thinking? I have nothing nice to say about it. Very disappointed in BMW. I was really hoping the 'leaked' photos were fake.

However, one thing I am very happy about is the B&O sound system. Retrofitting that as soon an it appears on realOEM Love it! Other than that, I'm going to get X5 M fenders and retrofit the LED headlights, and I'm keeping my X for at least another 6 years until the 4th generation. I'm not leasing, so I'm not financially forced to get something new in 3 years

Yeah, right... wishfull thinking...

the day I saw E53, like 10-15 years ago, I fell in love with it... the E39... still one of the best designed vehicles on the road... but Chris Bangle just bangled up the image... it was a downward spiraling since then....
Well said. The E39 is one of my favourite cars of all time, along with the E31 (which I own ) and the E53. I love my E70, but not all E70's.

Good video and one thing that's clear is that the F15 is very nice stock compared to the E53/E70. If you do it up with the right wheels I'm sure it'll still be a looker. Could it be that it's growing on me? The morph part near 1:25 shows that it does look more like a shoe from the side angle. The rear wheels are not close enough to the corner.

In the video, at 1:07, the presenter said this:
"On the new model, the kidney grills and the headlamps form a visual unit, which increases the powerful performance"
I kid you not...

I heard that and groaned, but figured the presenter might have been reading something badly translated from German. The video and much of the X5 marketing seems to be about looking powerful, which is funny because I never really thought that about the E53 or E70, especially when compared to giant American SUVs and trucks. It may be that they intended this to be the message, and no one noticed how it sounded, or if they did they didn't think it was worth another take.
