I fiddled with the build site, too. Amazed, (as I am at E70 loaded
prices)...these "times" are not conducive for these kinds of items
flying out the door; even Toyota & Costco are hurting.

Imagine my surprise, as we arrive at our cabin for a holiday snowboarding weekend with friends and there's a brand new black X6 50i in the driveway. It belongs to one of my buddies...he gave his ML63 to his wife and traded in her Benz G-wagon for the X6. After he told me the handling and power feel as good or better than his old ML (he's put about 7k miles on her so far), i had to take her out for a spin... ... I hit some Pocono back-roads and found a nice stretch of highway ...my immediate thoughts were that I can't imagine how she'll feel once broken into, let alone, how the ///M variants will perform.

I was heavy on the gas as the exhaust note was absolute music, a menacing growl. I felt essentially no turbo lag, throttle response was dead-on. Suspension felt like a yacht on land...very smooth and refined. My friend says that while driving the back-road twisty's i had a grin so wide i was getting chapstick on both ears . As we cruised the hwy, a newer model Cayenne S kept getting on my tail (was doing about 70)...as soon as the car in front of me moved out of the fast lane, let's just say the Pepper was a dot in my rear view mirror...that is until my friends laser detector started singing. This bad boy covers ground quickly and incredibly ! Too bad an Aztec could never hit twisty's at 80mph in it's wildest dreams

I'm now trying to convince my friend to take up Dinan's offer for the free software development. We looked on Dinan's site when we returned to the cabin and the offer is still on the site. He says he'll look into it further.

I saw one in charlotte the other day, but it was in the CPO lot...

I wonder if BMW is going to have a price DECREASE soon. Is it just me or does anyone else notice that everything but fixed expenses (house&cars you are paying off from buying before the bigbust, tuition) seems to be going down... Gas is 30% of what it used to be, and hell, so are clothes and electronics and new services? hmmm....

I guess that's the markets reacting to the economy. As demand goes down and people stop buying as much to save a bit, they gotta do what they can to keep sales up enough to keep the business afloat. I guess they can't all go barking up the golden parachute bailout tree!

I was at BMW of Peabody yesterday, and in the showroom was one of four leftover '08's. $999/month lease ($10K due at signing )
Deep Sea Blue on Beige Nappa. only another $200K of annual income and I'm there.

They wanted $69,900 for that and a VR one that was fully loaded too. I thought BMW excluded the X6 from special offers because it was such a hot seller!

I've seen a couple around the city in the last couple of months, I can honestly say that I stopped to look because it was 'different' not because I liked it.... it still hasn't grown on me.
