Like another member pointed out here some time ago the E71 X6 was more a celebration on the popularity of the E53 & E70. So any "extra" sales would be considered a bonus for BMW. 30000 units is not bad for 2008. P.S. Are BMW releasing a M Sport package (body kit) for the E71? i.e. Not the 4.4TT 550+ hp ///M. Kind Regards ekelly

How much more could it cost to produce an X5 than an X6. They are pretty similar (Besides the rear). Even the interior is almost completely identical. Considering the price increase over an X5, I imagine 30,000 unit sales make the X6 profitable.

Doubt BMW is going to stop making the X6 , their margins are very good on it. Most of it is from X5 ( only new things are DPC and tt8 for 50i which is going in next 7 series), doesn't cost them that much.
