The German autostrassenverkehr mag reported today that there are rumours that BMW will cancel the X6 type series.

I've not heard that anywhere.I had dinner w/ someone who works at the SC Plant several weeks ago.BMW sold approx 30,000 X6's in 2008.All at full price, full margin.Everyone I've spoken w/ that works for BMW is very happy w/ X6 sales...given the Auto World Sales Meltdown.I'll never say never w/ this crazy business world we live in right now...but I've picked up no hint at all about dropping the X6.The SC Plant is in the running to build this new 3 Series PAS on the same line as the new 2nd Gen X3.I guess if BMW could build a new product that sells more than 30,000 units a year at full price.....I guess the X6 could be deep six'ed.My death has been greatly exaggerated!!!!! Thanks! PalBay

30k units is a good number I think for the size of BMW.

My guess is the rumor is highly unlikely.

I am not piling on and I hope they sell truckloads...and, Palbay, you
& LeMans are our own CIA here.

But, they sold ~4500 in "North America" in 2008, but BMW's own stats,
so they must be moving a lot of units outside of NA.

I like the X6; wish it had a 6 speed and cost about 25% less...

Do you mean 6 speed manual, or 7 speed?

They have massive sales in the Gulf countries.. Here in Saudi you see the X6 more than the X5 E70
