Also all of the interior trim that's "carbon fiber" ... Is it vinyl-wrapped? because that's not factory is it? I've never seen trim like that except in e46 zhp model cars which had black cube Tim but still not actual carbon fiber. For the screen in your headrest you say DVD USB units where is the DVD player at? It's a very clean car very low miles unfortunate about the lemon issues which I assume show on the Carfax? |

Thank you everyone for the compliments and kind notes via private messages.
I guess I just like taking care of my stuff (like most of us on here) and my cars end up being lifers since I end up keeping them for a very long time. I guess life has a way of making you adjust to the unexpected. I am so bummed it's going. But I am so glad I took care of it the way I did. I'm very proud of the effort I've placed into maintaining it as these X5s are far and few in between out there nowadays. The steering wheel: I call it enhanced because it's just a tad bit thicker and had the Alcantara done to the upper section with the perforated leather sides. I removed the factory stock steering wheel and sent it to Germany to this place who does enhanced factory steering wheels. Your own steering wheel. The company is called "Meinlenkrad". They do great work and do speak genuine German since at one point that became a language barrier in explaining to them my instructions. And that was years ago. I'm sure they have someone English speaking now to take orders. Trim: It's 3M Di-Noc. I did the work myself. When I bought the X5, the previous owner had a dog it looked like (dog hairs everywhere) and some of the trim were scratched up so I ended up re-covering the trim pieces rather than source out other trim styles. I like how it turned out actually. Headrests: The face plate hinges out (like a shoe cubby or mailbox door) with the press of a button and the disc is snapped in place. They're aftermarket and they've worked every time the few times I had the kids back there when they were much younger. Each headrest has it's own remote and will play separate discs. The stock ones can always go back in as I have those still and will be part of the sale. Carfax: The seller (dealer) gave me Autocheck records when I bought it, along with all the confidential records BMW NA kept when they bought it back and serviced it from start to finish. These will also go to the buyer for their records as part of the sale. MANGO
