For Sale: 2003 X5 4.6is, 204k miles – very good condition but broken front differential

Silver 4.6is, alcantara interior, M5/M3 steering wheel, Eonon (factory-look) Bluetooth stereo. This car lived in Utah up until 2015, I purchased the car at ~120k miles (with a stack of receipts, including a new transmission installed at around 50k mile under factory warranty) and has been in Snowmass CO since then. I replaced the timing chain and tensioners a few months after purchase (knowing that is a weak point of these cars) and I have fastidiously maintained this vehicle at an independent BMW specialist since then. A stack of receipts in the time I have owned it (alternator, transmission and transfer case service, suspension air-bag replacements, countless suspension parts costing $$$, recently replaced ignition coils, driver’s seat electrics, numerous window regulators, to name a few),

The front differential recently died on me and the estimate to replace with new BMW parts is a little more than I can bear at the moment. This would either be a great project car for someone who has the time and inclination to replace the diff themselves, or to part out the car. The interior is in excellent condition – with the rare and very nice alcantara (with leather trim) with no tears or other marks. The 20” rims are in very good condition, with near-new Nokian Hakkapeliita all-season tires and near new Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded snow tires. Mechanically this car runs great, feels like there is still a lot of life left in the engine and transmission. Non-smoker’s vehicle. Exterior is in very good condition with a little oxidization of the paint-work on a few panels and a few minor scratches, but in all, still very good condition.

Note – the car is not driveable at the moment without the diff replacement, so this is an as-is, where-is pick-up by the buyer. I do not have the tools nor the facility to part-out this vehicle, so please do not contact me for parts. The buyer will need to pick up the car and tow it to their home at their cost.
