SOLD! Thank you Xoutpost and all the forum members. It has been a great 18 year run with my X5. Hated to part with it but sold it to an enthusiast who wanted a manual and wasn't turned off by the miles. You have all helped me maintain this Bimmer in great shape, mostly by myself but with some help from Flemington BMW. It was pampered by my wife (250k+ miles), driven hard by son (20k miles), then handed off to me (10k miles) and again pampered. The 3.0 E53 platform really is a the high point in BMW product line and I wish you all the best keeping these cars on the road.
