2004 X5 TCU/telephone install help

I have a 2004 X5 (Dec prodution 2003) that I ordered with a phone but when I received the truck the dealer said the modules for Bluetooth were not ready so I had a TCU with only BMW assist. I recently swapped out for a newer TCU and low and behold I connected my phone to the car. My dilemma is that the phone loses signal once i move it from the back to the front seats. This is due to the fact I dont have a Bluetooth antenna installed. Where do i install this antenna? In the armrest where there is a Fakra black/purple connector or do I install from the TCU to the antenna. My other question is that my old TCU had a black/purple Fakra connector already plugged in. Dont know where it leads to though. i was thinking this leads to the armrest ..not sure. Some posts show me a brass coloured fakra connector which is in the trunk...I dont see this.
I just plugged in the Fakra connnector that was already plugged into the old one. Could this have to do with BMW assist or NAV?
So I am not sure , do i get an antenna and run a new cable to the tcu or do i try to find the end of the one connector that is already there. Incidentally, the connector that is in the TCU now, splices and goes to the NAV unit as well.I hope I didnt confuse anyone but help would be appreciated. Thanks
