on the V710 and that early ULF, here is all I can offer for help.

Get the latest firmware loaded in the V710! (even try the hacked V710 versions)
Set the V710 to Bluetooth Always ON.
On the charging, check the wiring as SuperGreg mentioned.
Charging is the red pin on the eject box.
The white pin is Cradle activate. It tells the REd pin to give Juice to the Red pin. It needs to be in location 13.

I sound like Morpheus talking to Nero here.... The red pin will answer the question what is the Matrix? and the white pin simply for life to carry on as before.

well, thanx guys for help.

the latest is I got the E815 and it is working, even it is getting charged when using the cradle, I went back and tried to charge v710 it did not charge, the v 710 is working well with my MB E55 equipment.

the BT system working good with the E815, but I am having another issue here, I am able to recieve and make phone calls, the other party can hear me but I can not hear them, initially I was able to talk and listen, I am trying to figure out what went wrong today, the system was working well yesterday

Make sure that Bluetooth is set to always on.

You said it worked perfectly for a while and now it does not. That tells me that the wiring is correct. I would tend to think that something is wrong with the ULF module, you mentioned getting an early 1st gen from the dealer, OR something wrong with the phone. I would check the settings.

Also make sure that the sytem is somehow not putting you in privacy mode. You can press the pairing button when you get in and start the car in the middle of the call to transfer audio from the phone to the car.

Maybe something nutty is going on with that ULF module. It is the ULF that provides charging to the phone. Plus determines how the audio transfer should be handled. Visteon made a significant about of changes from the early 1st generation ULF module to the 6th Gen. such as completely redesigning the system with a new and better DSP, tweaking the audio quality to fine tune it for better audio performance, and modifying the phone profiles to support more Bluetooth phones and handle the calls more efficiently. They also optimized the radio circuit in order to stabailize the radio frequency generation of the Bluetooth signal.

Hope this helps
Martin

Reset just nukes the phonebook ect.

Put in pairing mode. Then hold the pairing button for 10 seconds.

It does NOT change any settings such as adjusting the overall volume or making it louder to my knowledge. It may set the specific phone volume settings to the default setting, but that is the same as just adding a different phone.

I am trying to narrow the problem down, today while no sound can be heard in the car I tried to use the phone itself but also nothing can be heard theough the hand set, but the other party is hearing me. when I switched the bluetooth off, the handset was working well.

I think I am in the privcey mode when using the bluetooth and I do not know how to switch it off.

what about the radion head unite connection, or a blown phone speaker fuse inside the car.

There are two fuses for the Bluetooth system in Each i-bus BMW (including X5)
1) KLR ignition switched power
2) KL30 Power

With either fuse out the system would not even turn on.

There is no fuse for the speakers.

Please describe your issue in detail so that I can narrow down the issue and try to help you out.

1) You mentioned that it worked perfectly before. Is that correct.
2) You mentioned that the ULF charged one phone, but not the other. Is that correct

3) Where you ever able to hear the other party speaking with the system?

4) Press and hold the pairing button and say "Help Phone" Does it say anything? If so then we can narrow down the issue further.

5) Where did you get the 1st generation ULF module? Do they have a return policy?

6) Can you open the cover on the electronics acccess area to reach the wiring? If so, check to see that the connection is solid. It is possible what you describe is related to a loose connection in the eject box.

the system did work initially and it is charing the motorola E815 only, I was able to hear the other party, but now they can hear me but I can not hear them.

one thing, during installation I took the amplifier out in order to install the ULF mount, I do not if it has anything to do with the sound input

just an update, I went through everything again, sometimes I can hear the other party sometime not, but the rest is working fine, even ysterday I was able to use the system to make some phone calls withoutany problem.

according to BMW TSB, either the unit needs to be recoded or the connection at the rear of the radion is loose(I could not finf th eproper hex tool size to takt the radio out).

I have an appointment tommorow at the dealership to replace the MFD, also they said that they gonna recode the ULF too, let's wait and see????????
