You can get the -387 and -522 module (5th and 6th generation) ULF from Martin Bishop www.bimmernav.com
I have bought two -522 ULF module and they work as advertised. My VZW Treo 650 and VZW RAZR pair up great with them. One is in a X5 and one is in a M3. Also, xoutpost.com does have EISKIT as an advertiser here as well. You can check with them. But, the last time I checked with them, they used the -552 (1st gen ULF) module and I wanted to get a -522 ULF which was confirmed to work with my VZW Treo 650. Quote:

- To get the latest ULF the only to go is thru Martin Bishop. But if you don't mind getting the old ULF you can get it from Kevin @ BMW of Macon for a cheaper price. I have both the 522 and 552 and have not seen any difference in quality, performance, or capability for basic BT functions. The 522 module does support SMS(read only) but only few phones support this.

I do not want to upset any sponsers to a great forum such as x5world, but the biggest change in the ULFs you mention is Voice Quality. The first Generation ULF module uses an old DSP to process the handsfree voice audio and mic, while the newer incorporate a new DSP for drastically improved audio. You don't take my word for it, but contact, the Visteon Bluetooth Product Manager on the Visteon Mach Voicelink product for details..... His contact information is in my hands right now, but I think I will hold back to save him from calling me to bitch me out for telling everyone to call him....
Anyway here is some general information http://www.visteon.com/products/auto...oicelink.shtml Martin |

I cannot confirm whether the Verizon Treo 650 will pair with the -552. If anyone has a ULF -552, we can always test it out with my VZW Treo 650. However, if you have a VZW Treo 650 with 1.04 firmware, it does pair with the ULF -522 module.
Again, the reason I got the -522 ULF was the fact that another person with the VZW Treo 650 with 1.04 firmware confirmed the it did pair with the ULF -522 on bimmerboard.com's bluetooth forum. Quote:

First of all, great to see you here from Bimmerfest.com
I enjoy the JL Audio Steathbox and custom amp rack that you design for the M3. It really makes the stereo shine in the M3 with H/K. Thank you for all your help re: this mod from last year! Also, I also have JL Audio sub in the X5 in a sealed box and it is incredible (have had that since 2001). Anyhow to answer your question, unfortunately, the SMS function is NOT supported with VZW RAZR. I think the SMS function in the ULF supports a few GSM phones and not our CDMA Verizon phones. Nevertheless, the -522 ULF pairs really fast with the VZW RAZR and your RAZR phone book will transfer very fast. It does work flawlessly. I would still get the ULF -522 for your M3. Quote:
