Can you advise me whether I can replace my 552 ULF with the 993 BT/Assist unit without changing out the wiring?. I don't intent to have the Assist service turn on but am definitely interested in getting the V710 working with the ability to transfer the phone book. I have dug myself a hole already as I have spent hundreds buying the V710 for my wife, bought the v710 snap-in adapter. Too late to try to return and swap my wife's phone service from Verizon to other GSM based providers. If I can swap out the 552 and replace with the 993 ULF for BT/Assist, that will be my best option if it is available. If not, I will resort to swaping the 552 for 522 and at least I can get her V710 working but no phone book transfer. Any advise here??? Thanks a million |

Hi everyone
Another question regarding whether the X5 should be recoded when the ULF is installed? My 03 X5 was never recoded when I installed the ULF late last year and it worked great with the V600. Now, I am having problems with the V710 and am wondering whether coding is needed to support the V710. Any ideas here too? Thanks in advance |

Regarding recoding the vehicle for the -552 module, I personally don't think this will buy you anything. Since you have the 552 module, see if you can load your phone on the 1.3 version of the V710 software. In that setup it should pair and work with the vehicle. Alternately, see if you can get your hands on a -522 module, which works with the 1.4 version of the V710 software. Either way, though, you won't get phone book transfer. Good luck! Jeff

This is a real bummer ... either down rev my phone to 1.3 and save some monies on buying a new 522 OR keep the current 1.4 software and buy the new 522. Any pointers where to look for the older software to load onto my phone? Thanks again for your help |

If you decide to go the -522 route instead, I believe AdvancedAutovations has them in stock at this time.

Thanks for your help. I really feel 'trapped' here. Am kinda relunctant to 'down rev' my phone but at the same time, really hate to spend so much more money for a cripple service (knowing that the phone book doesn't transfer). Can you tell me how much does the 522 cost from Advanced Autovations? THanks again |
