Just got my sparkling new P990 and will soon try to couple with the X5 BT, are there any issues with the new P series? I know the pervious editions didnt work properly!!!

Lucky You!!

Dam you are a lucky man. I had the P900 and now owe the P910i. The P910i will not work with the 6th generation UFL.
Let me know if it works with your X5 BT.

I don't think you will have a problem getting the phone to pair with the system, but I doubt you will be able to upload the phonebook. Symbian phones (whether Series 60, Series 80, or UIQ) all seem to have a problem with this.

Hmmm, does the fact that the P990 uses BT 2.0 make any difference? Anyways will post you my results ASAP!

P.S. On a side note, this phone rocks!

I paired the P990 with the X5 BT and it works flawlessly except for the fact that I cant get phonebook and sms info on the display! What a bummer!

Its a shame it doesnt work fully but apart from this drawback, I must say that the phone is very impressive indeed!

I have a MINI Cooper S with Sat Nav and Bluetooth... I bought it on 15/08/2006, so I think it has the last BMW Bluetooth module installed (European model, Spain), and my P990i works perfectly with it.

The contacts transfer automatically each time it connects. The first time it took a while, but with 200 contacts (more or less) it worked for me...

Can't say about the sms... but I think it works too... I will give it a try...

Bye....
