Has anyone tried a Blackberry 8100 Pearl with X5's BT?

Please confirm the compatibility between X5 BT and blackberry 8100 Pearl.

BTW, is build quality is pretty good? Some people at How*** forum claims that 8100 has near junk quality; cheep materials used... and so on..

Thanks..

Brian

I just ordered mine two nights ago. It was backordered, so it will probably be a week before I get it. When it is in, I will do a full report.

So far, I have not read anything objective that sounded bad about the Pearl. Someone over on E60.net got one and raves about it. He said that it works great with the E60 BT system. That does not guarantee that it will work with the I-Bus BT system, but I am highly optimistic.

Looking forward to reading your report. I'll wait to order it until I hear it's fully compatible with X5 BT. Thanks.

I'd like to know as well.

I'm debating whether or not to get this phone or the 8703e from Verizon.

8700 is bit big for pockets. I want to stick to 8100 if it works good.

All things being equal I would go with the 8100, but the 8703e for Verizon has EVDO and I live in an EVDO covered area, so the high speed web browsing is tempting.

Works totally perfectly with my 5th Generation Visteon ULF module. Check out my other Pearl posts. The Pearl is an awesome phone.

Do any of you guys use AOL email? I'm wondering if the 8100 is compatible with AOL Sync.
