Deleting all paired phones from 06 X5?

Hi everyone. I have been beating my head against a wall for several days trying to remove the paired phones from my new X5 and can not seem to do it. The manual that came with the car seems to have been written for a different model because I don't have the buttons that it is describing.

I have an 06 X5 with premium pkg and navigation. There are no phone pairing buttons or what have you on the center console. The only buttons I have are on the steering wheel and the nav panel. I've tried holding the steering wheel button that looked similar to the one described in the manual to get the X5 into pairing mode, but it just keeps trying to turn on/off voice control for the phone.

Does anyone have instructions for the model that I have?

Thanks
Dave

if you want your phone to stop pairing with the X, you have to delete the profile on your phone, not the X. Look into the bluetooth menu of your phone and there should be a "trusted device" menu, where you should find a device that has "BMW" followed by some numbers. Delete that and your phone should stop pairing with the X.

There should be a pairing button somewhere in the center consol.

It's possible that if its a retro fit (unlikly, but possible) that the pairing button is just tucked away under the center consol trim.

How did the phone get paired in the first place?

is that new for the '06 models? cuz my '05 doesn't have a pairing button that i know of.....all i do is turn on the bluetooth on the phone, it searches for the bluetooth signal, i put in the passcode and then it pairs.

Here's the link to the user manual for using bluetooth. Nothing in there mentions a pairing button on the center console.

There is a big chunk of the document missing, it goes from page 5 to page 10.

i don't have my manual with me right now, but looking at the index on the last couple of pages, pages 6-9 looks like it deals with the CPT9000 and the cradle and nothing to do with a pairing button on the center console or the functionality of the bluetooth.

I'm not wanting to remove my phone from the car, I'm wanting to remove ALL phones from the vehicle so I can start fresh with just my new phone. I paired a couple of other phones as a test before I purchased my new phone and now when my friend gets in the car with me his phone comes up in the system instead of mine. The manual that came with the car is describing the snap in adapters in the center console and a pairing button in the center console - both of which I do not have. The only buttons I have are on the steering wheel and nav panel. It looks like the manual was written for a specific configuration and they have no instructions for the config that came with my car. It's a stock system, not after market.

thanks
David
