Bimmer Nav bluetooth feedback

Current owner of a '02 X5. Looking to see if there is any feedback on the BMW Bluetooth set ups. I am specifically looking at a retro-fix bimmer nav bluetooth kit. I am probably going to do it but wondering what people think of the performance of the bluetooth set up? Microphone performance, phone linkage, user interface, etc? Is it worth the money?

If it matters I am running a X5 with premium & sport (non-nav and non-DSP). I am also running a ice-link for the iPod.

I can see that the bimmer nav retro kit is pretty much the solution. Just wondering what people think. I hate to spend money on something that is cumbersome and not very practical.

Thanks for the thoughts. Mike

You will hear a resounding affirmation from most folks on this board. The BMW BT system is the best available, in any car at any price. It beats what Audi and Acura are offering in their new cars right now. (I have not played with the Lexus system yet.) The kits that Bimmernav is selling are also the best you can get. They are totally complete, and the support is excellent. You can probably do the install in under an hour. Don't worry about spending the money-- as soon as you get the system in, you will be glad you did it.

Took less than an hour to install mine. Martin from Bimmernav was a tremendous help.

We work closely with Martin @ Bimmernav also and provide a lot of feedback back and forth on findings, he's a great guy to work with.

Definitely one of (if not the) best in the Bluetooth business.

Martin @ Bimmernav.com is the best with re: BMW Bluetooth retrofit kits.

I got 2 kits from him and even retrofitted my 2001 X5 with BMW Bluetooth (which was not originally made for Bluetooth).

Later on, I retrofitted the RAZR cradle in the X5.

The other kit is for our E46 3-series which works perfectly as well!
