03 X5 Retrofit w/Treo650/680

Anyone have any good results (or bad) with a 2003 X5 with the latest ULF module for bluetooth and either a Treo650 or Treo680? Am looking to upgrade bluetooth to my vehicle (build date 7/03) and I was told that the bluetooth module sold by Barvariansoundwerks was the latest and would work flawlessly. Any experience with the bluetooth retrofit out there?

Rob

Bav soundworks actually has the FIRST Gen ULF modules. Bav Auto resells the EIS Kits product. they are exclusive on that product. here are details from their website
What version of the BMW ULF module are you shipping with your kits?

If you are asking the question then you have no doubt done research and are concerned about compatibility. You may also know that all the ULF modules are made for BMW by Visteon. Visteon is no longer making these modules so when they are gone from BMWs stock they will be discontinued. At this point, the only modules available from BMW are the 84 21 69 34 552 versions. We will help you ensure compatibility with your phone when you purchase your kit. The only downside to this module is that it does not support SMS text (many phones don't support that via Bluetooth anyway). There is nothing wrong with these units despite what you might have read elsewhere. If you do not wish to purchase this module you may acquire your own module and we will still assist you with the other components needed for your unique installation.

I would look for the 11th gen ULF modules as they are the latest and best. The information on their site is also quite missleading. It says Visteon no longer makes this product.... that is correct. They no longer make the 552 ULF module version. it was END OF LIFE 4 years ago. Visteon has committed to BMW that they would continue development until 2010 when there will be no more BMW I bus cars (old computer system) The latest version (11th gen) just came out Dec 2006. here is a photo.

Treo 650 works fine in my experience

here is a list of the latest versions of ULF modules

Hey Martin,

With the 11th gen ULF, will the ULF download the entire address book in a Treo or still just the favourites?

thx

I have been told the latest phone software and the latest ULF modules work perfectly together. I have not tried them first hand, but have heard that everything works fine.
