A2DP bluetooth audio streaming and phone
This would enable both bluetooth handsfree and playing your phone's MP3 audio collection to the car's sound. I believe Motorola produce one such system but not sure how integrated it is with BMW. thanks, Seedar. |

The Motorola T605 integrated BT system does pretty much everything, including A2DP. However, the only car I know that is getting it any time soon is the 2008 Honda Odyssey.

BMW's telephone audio system is mono just like the navigation and TV function. BMW Bluetooth systems do not support A2DP, and if they did it would be in mono.
I was under the impression that the E60 5 Series was designed different with A2DP but I have not heard anyhting since the annoucement 2 years ago http://digital-lifestyles.info/2005/...h-bmw-5-series |

A2DP
Hi,
Yes I understand the BMW system is mono for nav and phone, however it wouldbe possible to install the Motorola system in a BMW and interface it to the car sound system with stereo - just wondered if anyone has and whether they acheived any greater integration than the default like being able to use the steering wheel button to make and answer calls etc - I guess thats through I bus though so not easy. regards, Seedar. |

The only way that you can have A2DP sound streaming from the phone to the audio system would be to use a audio input lead and an A2DP headset convertor ( http://tinyurl.com/2gt6pw ).
Then when you jump in the car the headset will pair and you "play" music through the sound system, you can use the MFSW volume button, but would have to use the phone to swap tracks etc. I don't know of any phone or clip thats has an i-bus interface. TBH, A2DP not that great, you would be better off with a ipod or similar...
