Wrong mic connector

As I was trying to retrofit the BT kit on my SAV, I was not able to find the right connector for the micropohone, the only available connector in the overhead is a 6 pin connector and not the 3 one. I removed the Homelink module, the alarm module and I only found this white 6 pin connector and not the 3 pin one to fit the mic.

Do I have the wrong mic ?

I had a similar issue. I had to run a new mic wire from martin at bimmernav. I posted a tutorial if you search my posts.

All X5s prewired for phone have the microphone. Sometimes they are just hidden. I have seen them taped in the wrong place before, but they are always there. Typically they are taped to the other wires near the rear side of that access panel

No, the MIC has a 3 pin connector, If it's not prewired,

Have a look here (plug 2, I think)

I retrofitted both my E39 and E53 with BT. On my X5, the mic wire was not present where it should be. My dealership explained that the factory will sometimes leave the wire hidden up in the headliner, they pulled it down for me and I completed the install.

right. Take a look at the other wiring that is located up in the overhead console. It is most likely taped down to the other wires.

In the X3 they use a little bit of hot glue to glue it to the roof.
In the X5 they use tape to tape it to the other wires- sometimes as far over as near the sun shades mounting screw
in the E39 5 series they use a small clip on the left side to clip the wires up and out of the way.
In the Convertible 3 series sometimes the wires are pushed forward towards where the wires are located for the rear view mirror (yes near the glass windsheild)

All of these efforts are done in prewired cars to keep the wires from rattling around when driving. Obviously when the wires are plugged into the mic it is a non issue but when not plugged in they try to keep them from bouncing around on the roof
